Sledgehammer's shooter fared slightly better in the US than it did in the UK, where it was only the second best-selling game of the year.
Madden NFL 15 follows in second on the American best-sellers chart, with Destiny in third. GTA 5 follows at fourth, ahead of Minecraft.
In sixth place, though, is Super Smash Bros, up a huge 22 places on its position in the UK best-sellers list.
Neither Far Cry 4 or Assassin's Creed: Unity place in the US top 10, however, despite proving popular over here.
