News: Xbox Live Gold won't be required for multiplayer gaming on Windows 10

PC users will continue getting free access to online multiplayer, despite Xbox Live integration.




Confirmation follows some confusion over whether a subscription would be required following Microsoft's announcement that it would be bringing the Xbox Live platform to Windows later this year.



The service will let developers integrate the Windows Store across Microsoft's platforms and "provide access to the vast majority of Xbox Live services currently available on Xbox One", including messaging and the option to chat with friends.



It'll also let Windows 10 players go up against Xbox One users in games that support cross-platform play, including this year's Fable...
