Microsoft says the game's delay will "extend the strongest blockbuster line-up in Xbox history into next year".
The Remedy developed title had been due to make up part of the Xbox One's autumn/winter line-up, alongside Halo 5, Forza Motorsport 6 and Rise of the Tomb Raider.
