Doom from id Software was shown off publicly for the first time at Bethesda's E3 2015 showcase. Multiplayer and level creation tools demonstrated.
Harking back to the original games, the Doom reboot features fast player movement, extreme violence and an array of classic weapons such as the double barrelled shotgun - weapons accessed via an on-screen wheel which slows down time when triggered.
At one point in the demo the main character ripped off a dead NPC's arm in order to use the hand to open a locked door. Numerous ultra-violent finishing moves were also shown off, as was the insanely gorey chainsaw, used to tear through a wave of enemies.
