News: Xbox Japan boss steps down

What next for Xbox which has never gained a foothold in Japan.

Takahasi Minami, who joined Microsoft in July having spent 25 years with Sony, will take over as the head of Xbox Japan.

Minami faces a mammoth task if he is to turn around Xbox fortunes in Japan. The Xbox One launched in September with lacklustre sales of 23,562 units. Since then this figure has risen to only 38,461 units.

So poor has the system sold that it's actually tracking behind the original Xbox and the Xbox 360. Most recent sales reveal the console sold only 776 units during one week, compared to 12,400 PS4s and 9,600 Wii Us.
